Chair: Giorgos Stamou Participants: Harold Boley, Giorgos Stamou,
Giorgos Stoilos, Theofilos
Mailis, Thomas Lukasiewicz, Robert Golan, Honghai Liu.
TOPIC 1: Status of the homepage (links, papers)
Stamou: We should make an effort to keep the content of the page updated,
since it is now also referenced from the charter of the Uncertainty
Reasoning XG.
ACTION: All to send to Theofilos mail containing references and PDFs with
papers related to uncertainty and fuzzy extensions of rule languages,
applications, etc. [New]
ACTION: Theofilos to update the site with the new content. [Continued]
TOPIC 2: Contribution of new members
Both Robert and Honghai would like to focus first on Use Cases.
Robert: Can provide Use Case with the MISMO(?) platform and investigate how
fuzziness can be added.
Honghai: To use f-RuleML to represent uncertain and fuzzy rules for
controlling robot behaviour over a network.
Thomas would like to contribute more on the theoretical part.
TOPIC 3: Consesual Slides
Action: AdrianG to send a message to the mailing list to clarify the
datatype approach. [Continued]
Action: AdrianG to revise page 8 of the Montreal slides. [Continued]
3) Proposed RIF core and uncertainty extensions:
http://www.w3.org/2005/rules/wg/wiki/FrontPage?action=AttachFile&do=get&targ
et=EditorsWD-rif-core-20070223.html
Stamou: It is very important to work on extending RIF Core with
uncertainty.
Harold: When they will consider extensions of RIF Core uncertainty might
also manage to be a standard RIF extension.
Stoilos: Together with Jeff we have already done a first extension of a
past
version of RIF Core for our presentation in RuleML06.
ACTION: Stoilos to start a new Deliverable about Extending the RIF Core.
TOPIC 4: W3C Uncertainty Reasoning XG (URXG)
Stamou: IVML is a sponsor of the URXG.
Stamou: People from f-RuleML TG who are not W3C members and want to
participate in the URXG should become invited experts.
Stamou: We might want to know who these people are in order to push for
their acceptance as invited experts.
TOPIC 5: Fuzzy RuleML Deliverables
i. Motivating examples and Use Cases (Adrian Giurca, Giorgos Stamou, maybe
we need one more?, leader Adrian Giurca (?))
Use cases deliverable is very important since the deliverable of the
URXG is
Use Cases & Requirements.
ACTION: Stoilos to contact Adrian for the UC&R Deliverable.
ACTION: Robert and Honghai to send a first description of their UseCases.
ii. Review of existing work in fuzzy logic programming and fuzzy
description logics (Umberto Staccia, Carlos Damasio, Jeff Pan and Giorgos
Stoilos, Umberto will be the leader)
Stamou: We should contact Umberto for the sources of the Deliverable.
Stoilos: I am not sure whether it is better to start over a new
Deliverable.
Stamou: I noticed a similar document by Thomas and Umberto, maybe this can
also fit into the Deliverable.
Thomas: Could, but is more focused in Description Logics and not Rules.
ACTION: Stamou to contact Umberto for "Existing Work Deliverable".
iii. Syntax and semantics of Fuzzy SWRL (Jeff Pan, Giorgos Stoilos, Adrian
Giurca, Umberto Staccia, leader Giorgos Stoilos(?), Carlos will be one of
the reviewers)
iv. Syntax and semantics of Fuzzy Hornlog RuleML (Giorgos Stamou, Adrian
Giurca, Carlos Damasio, leader Carlos Damasio (?))
v. Syntax and semantics of Fuzzy FOL RuleML (Jeff Pan, Giorgos Stoilos,
Giorgos Stamou, need for others, discuss it in the next meeting, leader
Jeff
Pan(?))
Stamou proposes the merging of deliverables iii, iv and v and the creation
of one deliverable:
iii) Extensions of RuleML with fuzziness.
Stoilos: Our paper (Carlos, Jeff, Stoilos and Umberto) in RuleML06 can fit
into here.
Stoilos: This deliverable seems more doable than the three previous ones.
6) AOB
Proposed next Telecon: April the 13th. (6th is 1 day before Easter)
No objections from the telecon participants.
Harold: Plan for RuleML forum, focused around business and industry, in
London around 20th of December 2007. This is not final; proposals for other
dates or places or to be collocated with other industrial or business
events
are welcome.
Harold: Members of this TG are also welcome to participate in the Reaction
RuleML TG (http://ibis.in.tum.de/research/ReactionRuleML/).
